When we receive other banks’ cheques, there is a confirmation portal provided by CBN which is used to confirming the cheque is valid or invalid. After confirming that the cheque is valid for processing, it was processed meaning the beneficiary was credited with the amount on the cheque, but at that stage, it is a partial crediting because the cheque will still go for clearance at the clearance unit of our bank. It takes about 24 hours. After it has gone for clearance, I was notified that the 2 cheques were returned through mail to the bank superior where the cheque is being processed.
