I am a Public Servant working with Nigerian Police Sokoto Command, attached to DCB, Gwiwa Police Station, Sokoto as an IPO. I have been an IPO for about 3 years. I know the 1st Defendants, and I came to know the 1st Defendant on 13/12/2018 at about 1145hrs when I was in the office as night IPO when Sgt. Salisu Shehu attached to Gwiwa Division came with Hussaini Shehu (the 1st Defendant) that they went to Sama road, opposite Speaker’s house to rob people there. They used cutlass on one boy on his shoulder, that was why he was arrested. But that they were 3 in number the other 2 had ran away. The said Sgt. Salish Shehu handed over the 1st Defendant to me for investigation. As soon as the 1st Defendant was handed over to me, I recorded his statement in Hausa language under word of caution. After I finished the recording, I read over the statement to him. He appeared to understand and also signed, and I also countersigned. The 1st Defendant earlier before I started recording his statement, also signed the word of caution. I translated the Hausa version of the 1st Defendant’s statement into English language.
