Exhibit ‘G’ and ‘G1’ are the Hausa and English translated versions of the 3rd Defendant’s statement made at CID Office Sokoto. Exhibit ‘H’ and ‘H1’ are the Hausa and English translated versions of the 1st Defendant’s statement made at Divisional Police Headquarters, Gwiwa, Sokoto. After the prosecution closed its case, the Defendants entered their defence and called three (3) witnesses without tendering any exhibit. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd Defendants, testified as DW1, DW2 and DW3 respectively. After the close of the defence, the case was adjourned for adoption of counsel respective written addresses. During adoption of written addresses of counsel, the prosecution urge the court to hold that the prosecution has proved its case beyond reasonable doubt and convict the Defendant as charged. The defence counsel on the other hand, urge the court to discharge and acquit the Defendants of all the three (3) counts charges since the prosecution has failed to prove all the essential elements of the offences with which the Defendants were arraigned before this court.
