Delivery of the Monies in Cash were taken to his Bedroom at the Governor’s Lodge, Abuja. Mr. Philip Akolo confirmed his closeness to the Defendant as an Orderly and confirmed receiving and signing for Funds due to the Defendant as Governor. However, he stressed the fact that he only collected Allowances and nothing else, and that he never collected any Huge Sums of Monies for the benefit of the Defendant. He also denied seeing certain Government Officials make Cash Deliveries to the Defendant in BOTH his Office at Jalingo and at the Liaison Office/Governor’s Lodge in Abuja. The Other Two Witnesses for the Defence testified as to the Administrative Procedural Steps of Ministries, Payments therefrom and the Application of the Financial Instructions of the State, stating that the Auditor General of the State did not query the Funds expended because proper steps were taken.
