mandatory sentence. The sentence must be pronounced without any
reservation because it is a duty imposed by law.

By the provisions of Section 1(2)(a) of the Robbery and Firearms (Special
Provisions) Act Cap. R11 LFN 2004, if the offender or anyone in his
company is armed with a firearm or any offensive weapon, the offender
shall be liable upon conviction to be sentenced to death.
In consideration of the foregoing provision prescribing the mandatory
sentence to be imposed upon the convict upon conviction, the sentence of
this court upon you Jammare Alh. Boyi in respect of the offence of armed
robbery contrary to Section 1(2)(a) of the Robbery and Firearms (Special
Provisions) Act Cap R11 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004 with
which you were arraigned before this court and convicted, is that you be
hanged by the neck until you are dead.
