arrested me came from Abuja to arrest me and others because after I was arrested they also came back arrested others but not because of what I told them. I have never had a mobile phone. The police did not arrested me because I was tracked through my mobile phone number. They just met me at Kara market where animals were sold and arrested me. The police first arrested others before they came back and arrested me. The police before recording my statement, they first informed me of the allegation against me. DW3 (after affirmative): My name is Aliyu Umar. I live at Kalmanu in Illela LGA of Sokoto State. I am a cattle rearer and also trading in vegetables. I am here before this court because I am suspected to have committed kidnapping but I did not commit the said offence and I don’t know who committed the offence. I also don’t know where it was committed. I was arrested at cattle sellers market, Illela for about 4 yrs ago. I was arrested by one Abu Bindiga and his boys while they were on patrol. They took me to Kaduna where I was tortured because they want get information as to whether I know the 1st defendant. I suffered to the extent that I cannot do anything for myself. I told them I don’t know the 1 st defendant. I did not give any statement to the police apart from the question they asked about 1st defendant.
