PW1 (after affirmation): My name is Rilwanu Altine. I live at Mana Area, Sokoto South. I am a businessman. I know the defendant. I also know Malami Mohammed, he is my senior brother. Sometimes in 2018 the defendant used to bring plots and houses for me to buy. I bought one filing station from him at N45 Million. After that transaction, he called me and said he has 7 houses at Bado Area, Sokoto. He took me to the houses and we negotiated at N14 Million. At that time I don’t have money to buy the houses, but because of his pressure, I borrowed money from Sidi Mamman’s children where I got N2 Million and gave him as advance. I later gave him another N5 Million, then N4 Million later, I then requested him to bring the title documents so that I can pay him the balance but he said the people who are to give him the title documents were not around. He then called me later and requested me to bring the balance because those people holding the title documents were back. I then gave him the remaining balance to make up the N14 Million. The following day he requested me to meet him at the bye-pass thinking that it was the title documents he brought but the defendant told me that the houses have been sold. I then said if the houses were sold, then he should give me my money. He then took me to Yar Abba Bureau De Change and gave me N7 Million and then said he will call me later and give me the remaining N7 Million. When I kept calling him, he gave N800,000, and I told him that I am going to sue him if he did not pay me the balance. He then took me to Arkilla and showed another 3 houses and told me that they were purchased at N10 Million and requested me to give him the balance. After we came back, I was not comfortable and so I went back alone and met people walking who informed me that the houses were not for sell. So I lodge a complaint Page 3 of 43
