Court: Call Nzude Okafor into the witness box as PW2. PW2 (After affirmation): My name is Nzude Okafor. I don’t have any work. I live at No. 5 Onubuogo Street, Zik’s Avenue, Enugu, Enugu State. I know the defendant since my childhood because we are from the same area with him. Sometimes in March, 2018, one of my friends that live in the same area with me in person of Onyekewere Ani told me that the defendant is looking for me for a cheque business that he needs First Bank cheque. So I went to the defendants house with a First Bank cheque belonging to my father and mother’s joint account. When I went to his house (the defendant), he told me that he wants to use the cheque to do a business. That the business will worth N1.2 million and he will give me 10% of that sum. So I gave him the cheque book. He then said he will call me anytime the business is done. At the time I took the cheque book to the defendant, the defendant was at the Police Detective College, Enugu. After I gave him the check book, I then went back home. Some few days later, I called the defendant and asked him whether the business was successful. He said he will call me when they are done. He later called me and informed me that the business has been successful. So I went to his house at the Police Detective College Enugu because he was staying with his friends at that time. When I went there, I met his friends who were about 3 of them and I know one of them in person of Shedrack and they told me that the defendant said they should tell me that the defendant is coming with the money.
