DW1 (After affirmation): My name is Hussaini Shehu. I live at Unguwar Rogo Area, Sokoto. I am a furniture maker. I heard the evidence of the prosecution witnesses. On 20/12/2018 at Sama Road Area, Sokoto when we came back from Mani Maishinko’s house who is a politician and on our way to our house we met one woman who is selling soya beans and before them we have same misunderstanding with some groups of politicians, and we met them at that place. We were not even aware that they were there when we were about buying the soya beans, and we just heard them saying here are they and from there they started inflicting matchet cuts on us including the woods the woman was using as her firewoods. We then retaliated and one of them lost his weapon and we used it to defend ourselves. I was cut on my head and blood was gushing out of me. I was then rushed to hospital on a motorcycle. At that time, I have one Vivo mobile phone which I am making use of, and the mobile phone got lost, and they took the mobile phone, but it was brought back to me while I was on hospital bed unconscious. While I was at the hospital one of the other boys was also brought to the hospital for treatment. So I was eventually treated at the hospital Specialist, Sokoto.
