he was taken to Abuja for interrogations, and in the process of interrogation, he confessed the ownership of the phone and Sim card. As the interrogation continues, he further confessed about the kidnapping of the American citizen one Mr. Walton Nathan. He also confessed that it was one Barti that brought the kidnapping job. He also made mention of names of some of his gang members. He mentioned one Aliyu Umar A.K.A Kwatte, and others whose names I cannot remember. Aliyu Umar Akakwatte is the 2nd defendant. After the interrogation, I recorded the statement of the 1st defendant after words of caution in English language and interpret it to him in Hausa language. He appeared to understand same and countersigned it with his right thumbprint. He spoke to me in Hausa language and I recorded it in English language and thereafter interpreted it to him in Hausa language. I then took the 1st defendant to my superior officer along with the statement. My superior interviewed him and also read the statement to him. O.B.
