understand Hausa language. After the charges were read and explained to the Defendants, the three (3) Defendants pleaded not guilty to all the three (3) counts charges. The charges which the Defendants were arraigned before this court, are hereby reproduced below as follows:Charge 1 “That you Hussaini Shehu, Sama’ila Abdullahi and Sama’ila Sulaiman on 20th December, 2018 at about 2245 hours at Sama Road Area, Sokoto within the Sokoto Judicial Division did conspire between yourselves to commit an illegal act and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 60(1) of the Sokoto State Penal code Law, 2019.” Charge 2 “That you Hussaini Shehu, Sama’ila Abdullahi and Sama’ila Sulaiman on 20th December, 2018 at about 2245 hours at Sama Road Area, Sokoto within the Sokoto Judicial Division did commit the offence of Armed Robbery in that you armed yourselves with sticks and cutlasses, attacked and robbed Mas’ud Muhammad of his Vivo handset valued N80,000, Ahmed Rabiu of his Infinix Hot 6 handset valued N60,000, you thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 287(2)(a) of the Sokoto State Penal code Law, 2019.” Charge 3 “That you Hussaini Shehu, Sama’ila Abdullahi and Sama’ila Sulaiman on 20th December, 2018 at about 2245 hours at Sama Road Area, Sokoto within the Sokoto Page 2 of 27
