Defendant’s learned counsel to contend that trial within trial ought to have been conducted with respect to the statements. It is equally late in the day for the Defendant to turn around, in her defence, to seek to impugn the same statement whose admissibility she did not object to. The overwhelming testimonies of the four prosecution witnesses which corroborated the Defendant’s confessional statement clearly rendered her oral version of what transpired as totally unreliable.
