When they stood up, I recorgnise the 1st and 2nd defendants, but they ran away. The 3rd one shot me with a gun, but I was not able to recorgnise the one who shot me. However, I also fired back but I don’t know whether I got him. Then he threw his gun and ran away. I then carried the gun and pursued him and when I could not arrest him, I came back to where my mother was with other people and thereafter came back home. When police from Tambuwal came to our house for condolence, we handed over the gun to them and also informed them that we know two {2} of the kidnappers and assured them that we will get them arrested and hand them over to them. On one Wednesday, we went to the market of Romo village where I saw the 1st defendant. We then greeted because we know each other. He then requested me to go to a restaurant where he ordered for food for us, but I told him I forgot something and I then came out and met my elder brother Alhaji Abubakar and requested him to go and bring the police and he actually brought the police who arrested him. Court: Under cross examination, PW4 further testified as follows:- PW4: I am a hunter but my major occupation is livestock rearing. There was no darkness when I sighted my mother, it was a clear morning. I am not a Nigerian and I did not tell the police that I am from Niger. I told the police that we recovered a gun and a cartridge. We also recovered a Cap, turban and a shoe. Our mother saw them but she said she can’t recognize any one of them.
