The Hausa and English translated versions of Umaru Dikko
1st Defendant recorded by the witness and translated which is
dated 5/8/2019, having been identified by the witness and
sought to be tendered in evidence by the prosecution which
has not been objected to by the defence, are hereby admitted
in evidence and marked as exhibits ‘B’ and ‘B1’ respectively.
Abbas Samaila PSC: You said detective A. Umar was the one who
supervised the investigation, for how long have you been with
him?
PW2:
I know him and worked under him for about 4 years before
he was transferred to Zamfara State Police Command. Apart
from supervising the investigation, he also played some roles
among which includes, visitation of the scene of crime, arrest
of other suspects, he also recorded the statement of one of the
Defendants. These are the other roles he played as far as I can
remember. I am also familiar with his handwriting and
signature because of the years we spent together.
Abbas Samaila Esq: Can you remember the Defendant’s name which A.
Umar recorded his statement?
PW2:
No I can’t recall.
Abbas Samaila PSC: That is all for the witness.
