Parties then filed exchanged and sub sequential adopted their final written address. On the date of the adoption, the defence counsel after adopting their written address urge the court to acquit and discharged the defendant because according to him, the prosecution failed to prove all the elements of the offences with which the defendant was charged. The prosecution on the other hand, urge the court to convict the defendant the as charged because according to her, the prosecution has proved all the elements of the offence of rape against the defendant. After both counsel adopted their respective written address, the case was thereafter adjourned for judgment.
