provided for the offences with which the convict was arraigned and convicted. In consideration of the reasons advanced by the defence counsel for urging this court to temper justice with mercy and the corresponding response of the prosecuting counsel, it is the humble view of this court that the case of the convict is the type in which a trial court will be justified to temper justice with mercy. Accordingly, the convict Dr. Hamza Abubakar is hereby sentenced to a fine of N20,000 for the offence of treating victim of gunshot without reporting to the police punishable under Section 5 of the Compulsory Treatment and Care for Victims of Gunshots Act, 2017 or 3 months imprisonment in default, N25,000 fine for the offence of framing of incorrect documents with intent to cause injury punishable under section 89 of the Sokoto State penal code law 2019 or 4 months imprisonment in default and N20,000 for the offence of issuing incorrect document with intent to influence course of justice punishable under section 151 of the Sokoto State Penal Code Law, 2019 or 4 months imprisonment in default.
