understands the implications of treating patients
{victims of gunshots} without reporting to the
police.
Due to his role in public service, we urge the court
to give him a lesser punishment by giving him an
option of fine. For all the charges as they contain
option of fine. We urge the court to temper justice
with mercy.

To the best of our knowledge, the convict has
no previous record of conviction. We also have no
objection if the court is inclined to give him option
of fine.
We urge the court to sentence him as charged.
SENTENCE
Court:
By the provisions of Section 310 (3) of the ACJL of
Sokoto State 2019, a trial court while sentencing a
convict, is required to take into consideration all
aggravating
and
mitigating
factors
into
consideration as a guide in deciding the nature and
extent of the sentence to be imposed upon the
convict.
I have taking into consideration the allocutus made
by the defence counsel on behalf of the convict and
the response of the prosecuting counsel in deciding
the nature and extent of the sentence to be imposed
upon the convict as well as the punishment
