The learned counsel for the defendant Mrs. S. Ovia adopted her
written address dated the 12th day of April 2022 wherein she raised
one issue for determination and went on to canvass argument to that
regard. The learned counsel adopted the said written address as the
argument of the defendant in this case and she urged this court to
acquit and discharge the defendant.
Mrs. H. B. Dogondaji, the learned counsel for the prosecution on the
other hand adopted her written address dated the 19th day of May
2022 as the argument of the prosecution in this case and she urged
this court to convict the defendant as charged.
As in all criminal trials, the burden of proving the guilt of the
accused person is on the prosecution. That burden is static and never
shifts. The case of the prosecution is to be proved beyond reasonable

CA.
The guilt of the accused person may be proved in any or all of the
following ways:
1. Confessional statement of the accused.
2. Circumstantial evidence.
3. Evidence of an eye witness.
