of beating on his body and when he asked those people he met there they told him that his brother fought with some people. This witness further stated that the names of Uma Damanga, Abdullahi and Abubakar were all involved in the fight. This witness further told this Court that the matter was reported at the Civil Defence Office and in the morning the Civil Defence Officers came with their vehicle and my brother was taken to the Specialist Hospital, Sokoto. This witness further told this Court that immediately they arrived at Specialist Hospital, Sokoto his brother died and from there they took his body back to the Civil Defence Office and the matter was then referred to the Dange Shuni Police Division and from there to the C.I.D. office, Sokoto. This witness told this Court that the police at Dange Shuni directed them to bury the deceased. This witness further stated that his statement was recorded at the C.I.D. office. Under cross-examination, this witness told this Court that he was told that it was the defendant that inflicted injuries on the deceased that resulted in the death of the deceased. The next witness that testified for the prosecution is one Lawwali Shehu. This witness told this Court that he lived at Bela Village in Dange Shuni LGA of Sokoto State. This witness identified the defendant in this case. He also informed this Court that the deceased in this case Abubakar Auwalu is his biological son. This witness further told this Court that when the incident leading to this case happened he was not at home.
